The Savage Wonder Festival of Veterans in the Arts is produced by Veterans Repertory Theater, a professional theater and event nonprofit. Founded by veteran Christopher Paul Meyer upon leaving the military in 2021, VetRep began as a platform for veterans and immediate family members who are professional playwrights. Meyer conceived of the Savage Wonder Festival of Veterans in the Arts to platform veterans into other art forms as well and create a theatrical, multimedia festival that could be repeated annually and establish the Hudson Valley as a mecca for veterans in the arts.
For three days in October, VetRep will feature installations, music, and live performances from Veteran artists at our Main St. location in Beacon, NY. Come experience the evolving space, art, and immersive performances from October 11th through the 13th, and come away with something both savage, and wonderful.
VetRep will be featuring static installations and live painting from Kat Furrow, Delvin Goode, Lani Hankins, Gina Herrera, Michael Isabell, Matt Kinney, as well as VetRep Board member Angelo T. Robinson. Attendees can explore the displays, watch paintings come together, and enjoy live music from Ben Fortier, Lois Hicks Wozniack & Hot Wrks, as well as Michael Bard.
Performances during the festival will include NYC’s Exit 12 Dance Company, opera singer Jesus Daniel Hernandez with Michael Bard accompanying, and Scott Arcangel & Hexatonic.
Tickets are free, and you can get yours here.
